Bare ace (poker)

Also: Naked ace

Poker term

An ace with no other card of its suit.

For example, on a three-♠ board, the A♠ is your only ♠. It is not a flush, but you know the opponent cannot have the ace-high flush, which gives you a reason to bluff. Preflop, an ace with no suited partner is not rated highly.
