To keep the blind order from skipping, the button may be placed on an empty seat, or only a blind is posted. Details vary by room, so ask the dealer if unsure. Some mixed-game tables say they "kill the button" when switching into or out of Stud, but what that means differs by table. The standard is the button freeze in TDA rule 12-B.
