Flush draw (FD) / NFD

Poker term

Four cards of one suit, one away from a flush.

You have 9 outs: about 18% to hit on the next card, and 35% by the river. An NFD holds the ace, so it makes the best flush if it hits. With a small flush draw the opponent may have a higher one, so discount 1-2 outs.
