Muck (poker)

Poker term

Throwing away your cards without showing them.

When you know you've lost at showdown, you can discard without showing. Example. If an opponent turns over a set first and you can see you're beaten, you can muck your one pair without showing it. It also means the discard pile, and if your cards touch the muck, the hand is dead.
