Hole card (BJ) / No hole card

Also: Hole card, no hole card, NHC

Blackjack term

The dealer's second card, held face down.

With a hole card (dealer peeks), the dealer holds the second card face down and, with an ace or a 10 showing, checks for blackjack first. With no hole card (second card dealt last), the dealer draws the second card after all players have acted.

OBO (blackjack)A rule where you lose only your original bet when the dealer has blackjack.
ENHC (blackjack)A rule where a dealer blackjack also takes your doubled and split money.
Peek (blackjack)The dealer checking the hole card first when the upcard is an ace or a 10.
