Second nuts / Nutted (poker)

Poker term

The second-best possible hand, or holding a nut-level hand.

The second nuts loses only to the nuts. When an opponent with the nuts bets big, this is exactly the hand that pays them off, so be careful. In PLO the second nuts costs the most. On 9-8-7 with T-6, you pay off J-T in full.
