Hi-Lo count (blackjack)

Also: Hi-Lo, Hi Lo, high-low count

Blackjack term

A counting system that tags cards +1, 0 or −1.

2–6 are +1, 7–9 are 0, and 10s, face cards and aces are −1. When many small cards come out, the count rises, telling you the rest of the shoe is rich in 10s and aces. You use that for bet sizing and index plays. Not the same as Hi-Lo in Omaha (the game).
